I have just found out a quick and simple way to rotate a video using IPhones. This wil be sooooo awesome in editing all those videos that were recorded vertically (with the black bands on the sides). Now we won't have to re film those scenes. Click the button below to take you to the tutorial site and learn how to start rotating your videos right away.

PARA EMPEZAR Capítulo 1A Below you will find a few of the scrips we have created for the Indie Film Fest. Check below to make sure you are familiar with the lines you need to have memorized. We will continue filming tomorrow. First period will shoot the action scene between Kendall and Miles. Second periods lunch scene script can be found below. Third period already has their scrips. Below you will find 5th periods script for the doctos visit scene and the Carmen Gives the Doll scene. Las muñecas muertas Characters: Fátima Almonte Ashton Peeples Carmen Madre de Fátima Maestra Psychologist Opening Scene Two childhood friends playing in a field (photos) as credits are being shown. Opening scene finishes with Fátima laying comfortably on a couch talking to her psychiatrist. Fátima: (with closed eyes)…..Pudiera parecer raro, pero es possible qué la clases de matemáticas es mi clase más favorite de todas. Mi profesora es muy simpática y paciente. Mi amigo, Ashton, es un estudiente en la clase conmigo. El es muy gracioso. Mi madre piensa que es muy Bueno que yo haga mas amigos. Usualment es dificiel para me hacer amigos. Psychologist: (in a calm voice) ¿Por qué, Fatima, es dificile para ti? Fátima: (opening her eyes and turning her head to look at the doctor) ¿Para hacer amigos? Psychologist: Sí, Fátima (he says with a trace of irritation in his voice) Fátima: No sé. No estoy seguro exactamente. The psychologist writes something in his pad. Fátima: ¿Qué estas escribiendo, doctora? Psychologist: Apuntes. (She finishes writing her sentence and looks at Fátima) Tú madre me dijó qué tú sientes mejor. Ya no tienes más pesadillas ,¿no? Fátima: No, doctora, ya no tengo mas pesadillas……..desde hace 13 años que Constance se desaparecío. Casí no recuerdo su rostro. Psychologist: (take a deep breath) Es tiempo. Fátima. Tu proxima cita sera el siguiente mes. Fátima stands up, puts her purse on her arm and slowly walks towards the door. Fátima: Gracias, doctora. Hasta luego. ( Fátima closes the door behind her when she leaves) Car Ride Home This scene takes place immediately following the psychology visit. This is the car ride home form the visit. Camera films Fátima looking out the window, day dreaming. She is quiet. The car is quiet. No one is talking. We can see buildings, houses, streets, etc. pass by through Fátima’s window. We watch Fátima get out the car at home and we see her go into the house. Our view is as if we are standing on the front porch or close from the front yard. Carmen comes to visit Fátima is laying on the couch with earphones on, watching music videos on her phone. The doorbell rings but Fátima does not hear it. Moments later, Carmen enters the living room holding a doll. Fátima looks up at her and jumps in surprise. She slowly moves to a sitting position and takes out the earphones. Fátima: Tú me asustaste. (she begins to stand) Carmen: Lo siento. (she takes a step towards the couch as Fátima begins to stand but moves her hands to signal her to stay seated) no, Fátime, no te levanter. No voy a quedar más de diez minutos. Fátima sits back down. Carmen: Lo siento que no vengo a visitorte más frequente. Fátima: Está bien, Carmen. Yo sé es muy difícil……um….hace 13 años que yo juego con mi amiga….. le estraño mucho. Classroom Scene Maestra: ¡ Muy Buenas taredes clase! Clase: Buenas tardes profesora. Maestra: Bueno. El dia de hoy, vamos a aprender un poco de matemáticas…¿Están listos? Clases: Sí Maestra: Repita clase, Cero más cuatro, o cuatro más cero, siempre son cuatro. ¿No es verdadero? Clase: Cero más cuatro, o cuatro más cero, siempre son cuatro. Maestra: !Excelente! (Maestra turns to the board and begins to work on math problems. After the second math problem, Ashton turns to Fátima and begins their conversation) Ashton: Dime ¿qué te paso? Fátima Almonte: Pues… son muchas cosas…Por ejemplo, yo pusé mis llaves en la mesa y después, se desaparecieron. Ashton: ¿Qué? Fátima Almonte: ¡Yo sé! Es muy estraño. No había nadie en casa conmingo. Yo estuve completamente sola. Ashton: Hmmmm ( thinking to himself) ¿Es la unica ocurrencia? Fátima Almonte: No… Yo sé te parezco loca, pero hace tres semanas que yo experimento…….cosas. Cosas muy estraños…. Ashton: ¿Qué típo de cosas? Maestra: ¿Ashton? ¿Fátima? ¿Hay algo que quieren decirnos? Ashton y Fátima: No señora. Fátima: Lo siento señora. Maestra: A ver…… Los Maya usabas una systema de síbolos de escribir sus números…..(Ashton begins writing a note to Fátima) …. Un punto, una barra y una concha. Clase, Abran sus libros a paquina ochenta y ocho (she turns around and begins drawing the Mayan math symbols on the board for the class to see. Ashton slides the note to Fátima which reads Hablaremos más despues de clase Fátima reads the note, smiles, folds it and puts it in her purse. She then turns her attention to the teacher. Sixth periods hospital scene and running scene can be found below. Remember that the running scene will be filmed during 6th period and the hospital scene will be filmed during 7th with the select few students that were designated on Tuesday. Seventh period will shoot more classroom scenes and begin working on the scene where Courtney Tells Chioma about the creepy book and the origins of the crystal necklace. No script at the moment.
February is Black History Month in the United States. In our class, we will begin researching some of our favorite Afro Latinos. Due Thursday, February 16, 2017, you will create a video documentary about a famous Afro Latino or Afro Latina. click the button to view a a list of a few of these people.
The video must include a movie intro which includes the name of your film, the name of your Afro Latino/a, your name. You must include a picture and or video of the following things:
the person as a baby or a small child their home town/ where they are from their parents/family /spouses samples of their contributions what makes them famous (ex. album covers of singers, movie posters of actors, etc.) Please do not type anything in your movie except for the written portion of the title section ( movie intro). The remainder of your film should be vocal. Your voice over should include you telling: where they are from where they are born how their hometown/ place of birth influenced them their heritage (what makes them Afro Latino/a) their contributions what they are famous for where they are now if they married another Afro Latino/a or and African American The end of your movie should be a clip of them doing the thing that they are famous for. For ex. Mariah Carey would be singing, Sammy Sosa would be playing Baseball, Tatiana Ali would be seen performing in a scene of The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. You will receive extra credit if you dress up EXACTLY like your person on Thursday the 16th and present your video in full costume. Your chapter 2A Exam will be Tuesday, January 24th. Below are the last activities that will help you prepare for the exam. All written assignments below must be written out on notebook paper. Take a photo of the written work once completed and upload the photo to your website under the TRABAJOS section. A. Your video will follow the same format as the one shown below except yours will be 23 frames long instead of the 5 or six shown in the sample video. You may also use clips from YouTube to help demonstrate the actions. However, you must give credits in your video at the end and your video must not become blocked by youtube. You can achieve this by using an online file converter that will convert YouTube videos to MP4's. Here an example of this. Keep in mind that the school's wifi may block this process so you may want to do this at home or using your own wifi. You may work alone, in pairs, or a group of three only. Make sure the video is posted to every group member's website before class Friday. Every person's website will be checked to make sure the video is loaded.
